Desde la primera manifestación en 1977 hasta el día de hoy han cambiado muchas cosas. En aquel momento estaba vigente la Ley de peligrosidad y rehabilitación social que consideraba la homosexualidad como antisocial. También estaba vigente la ley de escándalo público que perseguía la homosexualidad. Mostrarse y amar era, durante la dictadura y la transición, un riesgo enorme que suponía penas de prisión. Gracias a la lucha de muchas de las personas valientes que lo desafiaron, los derechos de las personas LGTBI formaron parte de las reivindicaciones democráticas y, aunque ha sido un proceso lento, el reconocimiento de muchos de estos derechos es hoy una realidad.
A estas alturas, derechos como el derecho a mostrarse libremente y expresar la propia identidad y deseo, el matrimonio igualitario o el derecho a formar una familia son una realidad. También hay una red de servicios de apoyo, referentes públicos, políticas públicas, empresas sensibilizadas… y una gran normalidad a nivel social, especialmente entre muchos y muchas jóvenes.
Pero ha sido, como decía, un proceso lento y costoso que hace que, como otros colectivos, las personas LGTBI aún sean centro de discriminación y violencias. Todavía hay sectores de la población -alentados por extremistas- que no admiten ni respetan lo que se considera fuera de la norma -una norma legal, por cierto, que sí que lo acepta y protege mientras lo que no contemplan las leyes son las actitudes LGTBIfóbicas- y agreden a las personas del colectivo. Sean agresiones verbales, intimidatorias o físicas, es violencia que hay que erradicar de la sociedad y hay que denunciar.
Hace muchos años un lema decía “Ama como quieras” y sigue siendo un lema radical, un lema que enfatiza que el amor lo gana todo. Muchas han sido las personas estigmatizadas, encarceladas, torturadas, asesinadas por amar a personas de su mismo sexo o sentir una identidad diferente a la que el rol social marca; personas que han mantenido su opción: el amor y el cuidado, por encima del odio. Personas valientes que han hecho posible muchos cambios y a las que hay que reconocer y no enterrar con el olvido.
Este 28 de junio, y cada día, hay que seguir defendiendo los derechos, el amor, la identidad sentida por encima del odio violento y discriminatorio que hay que arrinconar y denunciar. ¡Con todo el orgullo!
