La vicepresidenta segunda del Gobierno y ministra de Trabajo Yolanda Díaz, se ha propuesto rebajar el precio de la cesta de la compra. Plantea congelar los precios de entre veinte y treinta productos básicos. Una cesta que se actualice semanalmente e incluya productos frescos como pescado, carne, fruta, huevos o verdura.
La propuesta no ha sido bien recibida por parte del sector socialista del Gobierno y han acusado a la vicepresidenta de excederse en las competencias. La propuesta de Díaz, consiste en llegar a un acuerdo con las grandes distribuidoras en la limitación de precios y no en una intervención: “las empresas españolas son conscientes del problema que tenemos y seguramente contribuirán en un momento de excepcionalidad”, ha afirmado. Ante el cuestionamiento sobre la legalidad de la propuesta, la vicepresidenta asegura que “es perfectamente legal y si repasan la ley del comercio verán que existen excepciones. No es que no se vulnere sino que está basada en el principio de competencia”, ha recalcado.

Yolanda Díaz y el ministro de Consumo, Alberto Garzón se reunían con Alexandre de Palmas, el director ejecutivo de Carrefour después de que la empresa francesa propusiera una cesta de treinta productos por treinta euros. Se ha echado de menos fruta, carne, leche o pescado en la propuesta del supermercado que sí incorpora aceite de girasol, conservas y pasta. Desde Consumo se ha recalcado la importancia de incorporar productos frescos y saludables “que aseguren una dieta equilibrada”. Ambos ministros recuerdan que se pide el esfuerzo a las grandes distribuidoras y no al pequeño comercio, que ya ha mostrado su malestar por la propuesta, ya que creen que fomentará la compra en grandes superficies. Garzón y Díaz esperan que las ofertas contra la inflación duren más allá de Navidad. Desde Carrefour afirman que “la situación actual requiere de medidas ágiles y efectivas”.
Este lunes, la ministra de Trabajo y el ministro de Consumo se reunían con el sector de los súper e hipermercados después de la reunión con Carrefour para conseguir “una cesta sana y equilibrada”. Díaz ha calificado la reunión de “constructiva” y ha agradecido las aportaciones. Han estado presentes el Consejo de Consumidores y Usuarios, la Asociación de Supermercados y Distribuidores (Anged), donde se encuentra el Corte Inglés; la Asociación de Cadenas Españolas de Supermercados (ACES) donde están presentes Alcampo o Carrefour y la Asociación Española de Distribuidores, Autoservicios y Supermercados (Asedas) con Mercadona o Lidl. Los asistentes se comprometen a estudiar la propuesta que incorpore productos frescos y para celíacos y que esté disponible hasta después de Navidad y se volverán a reunir después de la cumbre del G-20 donde asiste la vicepresidenta Díaz.
La ministra ha insistido en la legalidad de la propuesta y ha añadido que “a las grandes distribuidoras, al igual que a la banca, se le pueden pedir esfuerzos”. Una demanda del sector ha sido reducir el IVA para que el pequeño comercio también pueda bajar sus precios. Desde Asedas, afirman que “no comparten la elaboración de una cesta básica” y optan por la reducción o suspensión del IVA, como hizo Alemania durante la pandemia, además de medidas para reducir el gasto energético. Desde Anged, el vicepresidente ejecutivo Millán Astray asegura que mientras la industria aumentó un 12,6% los precios, la distribución sólo lo ha hecho un 7%.
Preguntado por el Diari del Treball, Javier Pacheco, secretario general de CCOO de Catalunya cree que la propuesta va en la línea de lo que hace tiempo que piden, pero afirma que “no debe ser una voluntariedad empresarial” y asegura que “la Constitución lo prevé ”. Además, añade que “si no imputamos márgenes de beneficio, la inflación continuará desbocada”.
